Co-Founder with Melissa Hill of the Women’s Running Coaches Collective

Has always been passionate about running, and track and field. Committed to  getting more women into running/T&F and coaching. Fought hard in the early days of women’s running (early – to mid 70’S) to have longer events for women. With the WRCC, she wanted to support other women coaches and increase the number of women coaches in the sports of running and Track and Field.

Currently the Head Coach Caldera HS Track and Field and Cross Country in Bend, Oregon. A new program just 2 years old. Has coached for 50 years at the Middle School, High School, College and Club Levels. While coaching at Lincoln HS in Portland, Oregon her boys and girls teams both won State Track & Field Championships in 2007. Numerous State Qualifiers, Winners and top 8 place finishers in the 400, 4 X 400, 800, 1500 and 3000 meters –  both boys and girls. Has a chapter about her in the book “First Ladies of Running” by Amby Burfoot

As an athlete some career highlights include:

  • Winning the 1975 New York City Mini Marathon.
  • Olympic Trials Qualifier in 1976 (1500 meters)
  • National level performances at every distance from 800m – 30 km.
  • 5th Place in the 1974 Cross Country Nationals
  • Winner of numerous New England and Regionally XC and T&F Titles
